Nesta's Bio

Born in Dakar, Senegal, and currently residing and working in Toronto, Canada, I draw inspiration from the diverse cultural landscapes that have shaped my artistic journey. My artistic journey has been deeply influenced by the artist Tim Okamura, whose work centers on realism and portraiture, themes that resonate deeply with me. My work is a celebration of people of color, each with captivating stories and entrancing beauty. I aim to challenge conventional notions of cultural identity, sparking a reimagination of our future through the preservation and integration of traditional practices into new technologies. One of my proudest achievements is winning the Digital Art Award at the Annual Art Exhibition at UTSC for my 3D printed artwork, "Future Legacies of African Tribes." Through my art, I hope to ignite meaningful conversations about the importance of preserving cultural heritage and weaving it into our visions for the future.
